Assignment 2

The organization that I am working with, The League of Women Voters, educates and informs the FM community of local and national policies and voting rights. They also allow for candidates to have access to the community by sponsoring forums throughout the campaign season. The group is non-partisan and the audience is the community, other organizations, and business. The group effects policy by declaring platform issues and informs the public with presentations about policy with "First Fridays" every month. The League is run by dedicated women in the area who have experience and knowledge of politics and policy.

The organization serves the people of the Red River Valley, but may also have influence throughout North Dakota and Minnesota. They play an important role in educating the community of candidate issues, policy issues, and voting rights. The community depends on the League to give accurate and non-partisan information which the League has proven by being a fair and timely organization.
